Spidex Software has announced that a major aerospace components manufacturer has selected Mainsaver CMMS for one of its UK manufacturing sites.
Spidex’s new customer is globally acknowledged as an innovative designer and manufacturer of specialist equipment and systems, integral to household-name aircraft construction programs.
The company began to look at its options in the CMMS marketplace as an alternative to existing paper and T-card maintenance recording processes. These, while tightly controlled, meant that departmental information could exist in a variety of formats and be held in different silos. The principal driver was to create a centralised repository for plant maintenance data, thereby improving visibility and reducing admin time.
A number of CMMS providers were invited to demonstrate their solutions and a short-list of suitable systems drawn up. The compatibility study included a reference site visit, for which the evaluation team saw a live Mainsaver CMMS installation in action at another large-scale industrial manufacturing plant. After a detailed comparison exercise, Spidex’s offering was declared to be the best fit.
Implementation of Mainsaver CMMS is now underway, with project study, asset data collection and user training activities already completed.
As well as the project’s principal objective, concurrent points of focus are expected to be (i) best-practice management of critical assets and spares (ii) improved contractor control using Mainsaver’s PM and Job Plan functions and (iii) deployment of the Dynamic Risk Assessment module to support site health & safety.
Spidex Managing Director Jonathan Starling comments: “We are delighted to work with such an internationally-renowned manufacturer on this important project. Aerospace is an exacting maintenance environment and Spidex’s selection here demonstrates the robustness of our CMMS solution.”
