Spidex Software is delighted to announce that Goodridge has selected Mainsaver CMMS to support best-practice maintenance at its manufacturing plant in Exeter, Devon.
Goodridge is the world’s leading manufacturer of automotive fluid transfer systems such as fuel lines, brake hoses and coolant assemblies, with a roster of customers that includes some of the most renowned marques in the motor industry and in motorsport. Its plant in Exeter is one of 10 manufacturing and distribution sites around the world (including the USA, Japan and Mexico) which supply a number of other specialist industrial sectors, as well as the automotive market.
Goodridge’s Exeter site had previously used Excel spreadsheets to manage its schedule of regular maintenance tasks, but were experiencing difficulties with the reporting and analytics limitations of such a system. Another key factor to be addressed was the requirement to more effectively support compliance with quality standards, particularly TS16949, a key requirement for manufacturers in the automotive supply chain. Having examined a number of possible solutions, Goodridge selected Mainsaver CMMS.
Following selection and installation of Mainsaver, system training was carried out for the engineering users and a database of the site’s maintainable assets created, against which maintenance schedules and activity records were logged. Maintenance workflows were then developed and put through their paces in a stringent as-live exercise that Spidex refers to as a “conference room pilot”.
Remarkably, all this activity took place while Goodridge was also in the process moving its entire production operation to new premises.
Final go-live of Mainsaver CMMS at Goodridge is imminent, but in the meantime the site has since attained successful re-certification to ISO/TS 16949, a contributory factor for which was cited to be the work that has gone into new “operational and quality systems”.
Spidex Managing Director Jonathan Starling commented: “We are delighted to be working with a manufacturer of Goodridge’s stature during this important phase and helping to support their compliance objectives. We look forward to a long and happy working relationship.”
