Spidex is delighted to announce an exciting new addition to the range of metrics available on its Factbird shop-floor datacapture system.
The new feature is called Production Meter and is designed to enable cross-comparison of performance in manufacturing environments. Simply set the target for each shift or batch, and Production Meter displays progress against that target in real time and in clear visual formats.
Using the new feature, figures on current adherence to schedule, number of units produced and performance variances with the previous shift or batch can be viewed at a glance.
Production Meter also enables operators and production managers to register the causes of any stops that occur during the shift and these are also displayed onscreen.
The new feature, developed in conjunction with pump manufacturing giant Grundfos, has engendered increased levels of shop-floor motivation wherever it has been installed, as operators and supervisors try to outscore the previous shift.
Factbird is low-cost standalone hardware that can be installed in under an hour, requiring only a power supply. The small unit collects production data and delivers it in graphical formats to a secure cloud server, where it can be accessed at any time via mobile phone, tablet or PC.
